[SuperSundays] Guyson - Revisited

This past week has been really intense, having worked over 60 hours for the first time in my life. I have always complained about not ever getting enough work, and I feel the universe is trying to pay it back ten fold.

As such, I have not had the pleasure or the time to really work on much Valanas Lore Shorts. Instead, I have had the joy of putting together some fun comic/heroic character ideas that were inspired while reading my fun Kickstarter reward that I helped to get off the ground for the Mutants and Masterminds RPG.

While I wait for time to devote to my Valanas fictional world, I think it would be appropriate to use my hard invested money in Mutants and Masterminds to put together some quick-start characters and put together an episodic, possibly monthly game at my local brick-and-mortar shop. If all else fails, I know there are plenty of individuals online who would love to play in a game or two as well.

As I went down memory lane, I recalled one of my favorite characters I have played in a long time: Guyson the Capoeira Martial Artist! Reading through everything I realized that my growing knowledge of literature and the FATE Core mechanics could be easily applied to help define Guyson.

By doing so, I can learn where he came from, what drives him, and why he is fighting now. This way I know what abilities he should have that tie to his origin, what he needs to get to his future, and what abilities I should plan on developing down the road. As many of my fellow players know, Guyson seemed rather nice with his martial abilities, but his social skills were not typically well evolved and he often had social conflicts that made it difficult to RP the character when combat was not involved.

By looking at Guyson in a FATE Core point of view, we know he would have the following aspects:

High Concept - Heroic Martial Artist Investigator
Trouble - Brother is a Troll, and a God that wishes for Guyson's ruin!
Origin - Lost youth abducted and forced to be a Street Fighter.
Talent - Master of Capoeira Martial Arts
Motivation - To find the cure and bring an end to the source of the Troll Serum drug.

Taking these into consideration, I was easily able to put together his now updated character sheet.

The basic jist is below. When I have more time I'll see if I can't polish it up and make it look pretty like I did with my last character. The basic jist is that he is a private investigator now, and his martial art builds off of constant movement and stacking attacks in melee. As always, critique is always welcome!
