[Valanas] A month of renewal

In the past four, almost five, months since my last post I have gone through some very significant changes in my life. I now live in a beautiful house in a small town, not a typical downtown apartment. I am now employed in a full time job with overtime, with paychecks to help pay bills that I never thought I'd be paying.

Though due to that, I have been lucky to manage any time for my poor neglected blog. It is not to say that the investment of time and money into this blog has gone to waste. Instead, many of my writing is done behind closed doors and only shared with select people. Starting now, I hope to change that.

My lovely wife +Katie Lorando has been a continued inspiration of keeping me focused on my end goal, supportive of the fact that many of my creations would better fit in a novel or even book series. Valanas has been, and always will be, an enjoyable memory in my mind. Though in the most recent months of focused study, editing, and loving manifestation, it has become something new. Reborn into a work of art with a target audience, rich flavor, and compelling emotion.

Add to the fact that this upcoming month is NaNoWriMo, also known as the National Novel Writing Month, I felt motivated to at least share some of the Lore that I have put together over the years that has helped to shape the world into what it is today.

In the upcoming weeks, I plan to commit to at least one piece of fiction a week around 1500 words a piece. If anything I have found that writing this amount of words each week has helped me to really focus on my writing ability and helps me to really think about what I am putting into each word and each sentence. It puts me into a mindset of word economy that I wasn't fully clear of before.

It is my hope that I will be able to share my adventures of some of the key protagonists of Valanas. With each bit of lore, I hope that readers will provide their own input into my writing style, content, and overall presentation of the world through words. At the very least, I hope all readers enjoy the journey I am about to share, and that everyone feels compelled to share their own thoughts and critique. Here is looking to the future, and a world reborn!
